Hello and thank you, Ruth. I will check that group out. I am also a former police officer, so it may fit me well. I have already found a few groups of interest, including the American Atheist group, of which I am an annual paying member. The more I explore this site, the more I am appreciating it. Thanks also for the layout tip, I am trying to figure all the functions out at the moment.
Thank you for the welcome, you definitely seem to be on top of things lol ill try to keep up with the groups in all. Still have to learn my way around the site though, but thanks again!
Thank you for the comment. We'd love to check out a copy of your paper! We have a Facebook page "godless prophets", which is what we meant by "like". Please look us up. Looking forward the future interactions
Thank you for the welcome, Ruth! The links to groups and such to look into is very informative and appreciated. Have a wonderful day! I will poke around in those groups as well as the community in general.
New Atheism is the name given to the ideas promoted by a collection of 21st-century atheist writers who have advocated the view that "religion should not simply be tolerated but should be countered, criticized, and exposed by rational argument wherever its influence arises."...The term is commonly associated with individuals such as Richard Dawkins, Daniel Dennett, Sam Harris, and the late Christopher Hitchens (together called "the Four Horsemen of New Atheism" (Wikipedia).
"Greets, peeps. I'm not formally trained in ASL, though I know a few signs. Once at a customer's site, I saw a deaf programmer struggling with a problem with the VMS operating system. I remembered the sign for HELP,…"
I was going to set up a group for Deaf Atheists, but figured I'd probably be alone in here if I did that so I figured I'd open it to anyone who knows sign language or even interested in learning it.
"I don't know if this is the trial you're referring to, and unfortunately, your link no longer refers to an active page, but back in February of 2013, HBO aired a brilliant if disturbing piece: Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God,…"
"Living forever is not what it's cracked up to be. I'm not sad, but I do get tired more often. Imagine how sad and tired you would be after a few hundred years of singing praises and hosannas with God. Maybe it wouldn't even take that…"
"I agree with Two Cult Survivor. The theist already knows that he is correct, and he has the evidence, the Holy Bible - the "word of God." The theist puts it on YOU to show evidence that God is non-existent and he walks around talking to…"

Thanks kindly for the welcome. Yes I did like the Buckaroo Bonsai show and it is part of why my handle on Facebook is Buckabuddha Bonsai.

Oh great! I just joined Godless in the garden ... of course, I'm not quite up to snuff yet, and I thought it was Goddess in the garden. :-)
I rather suspect I will be more of a lurker than a participant, especially now that gardening season has begun.
I see in your profile that you're in Bensalem, PA. I spent approximately the first half of my life there!
Thank you Ruth for the warm welcome!
THANK YOU!
