Re: the KEFs, they have improved ... a LOT, and the Revels I heard recently were reasonably inexpensive and truly SANG.

One other thought: you may have heard that the new Magnapan quasi-ribbons are huge bang-for-the-buck.  I have recently heard the 1.7's ... and no, they ain't lying!!!

I've heard a couple of B&W's, including the classic 801's.  If you like B&W, you should give the new KEFs a listen, and also the new Revels.  Both are EXCELLENT.

And if you ever get an opportunity to audition the Martin-Logan Spires, Montis, or Summit X speakers, DO SO!
