Greetings, Caine! I notice you haven't been active at Atheist Nexus since Feb. <sigh> Sometimes it can seem a bit fragmented, with different groups for every interest. Please consider a group for socializing, where we talk about whatever's on our minds, Hang With Friends. :D You might feel more at home.

Haha, nope, the other. Which was why I was somewhat confused thinking you knew which I meant when you were arguing it wasn't a paraphrase when you HAD the correct version right there too, lol.

I got my photos crossed and thought you were talking about this one which is not a paraphrase.

No. It's really not. Complete text. Article 11.

It's an excerpt (not paraphrase) of the Treaty of Tripoli, which was indeed ratified by Adams, but was drafted by Washington.

Well, I'm a fairly odd person. That'd be the first reason it makes me peaceful I presume. And secondly is the fact that this world has become so stereotypical and anything dark (for a lack of a better word) is counted as unpatriotic. Hell, I knew a Christian friend who dressed 'punk' just because she liked it and people shunned her.

Oh yeah, I remember that line. It's rather famous. Actually.... our county sign does have bullets through it. Heh.

I tried getting involved with someone from Barcelona so I could visit quite often, but alas...

Hope springs eternal.

Yay! You found it. Without having to wait for my slow butt! LOL that is great, thanks! =) And makes sense that it would be in an EEOC guideline.

OK, well when i go back to work next wk, i will look into it (I work for fed gov't). I'm definitely interested to know myself, you brought up a good question.
I know where I can find what laws apply to the smaller agency for which I personally work, but as far as the USG as a whole, I need to search through the database. Also there may be diff rules for civilian and military sections, are you interested only in the civilian side?
Will let you know what i can come up with!

hay Caine. Were you looking for a DoD reg on anti-religion, or just a USG reg in general? like a law congress passed? US Code or such?

Hallo Caine,
hey, personally i found there are plenty of atheists in houston but most of em are not outta tha closet (i like to think, yet). having spent much time there over an eight year period in the 90's, i wuz surprised but glad to find a bunch of 'em :)
anyhoo, hopefully the narrowmindededly dogmatic [bible] thumpers don't make you feel penned in; admittedly there is a preponderance of'em there. but all is not lost-esp w/ a charismatic leader to take people out of the fog (this can be you :) )
p.s. really like ur profile =)

I don't know about that Caine. I was goth-ish when I was younger, and I really appreciate the aesthetics and interests of the goth community. However, I have known quite a few highly religious ppl who were goth - wore the white make up, black clothes, etc, and then went to like the Church of Christ on Sundays. Also, there is a huge gay church here in Dallas, with a lot of really two-faced queers who can come to terms with being a cocksucker and feeling okay about it, but think that a 3-way is immoral. Go figure!

Well, you can do a member search by "houston", or you can also join Atheist Singles and Secular Sexuality groups as well. I don't know of anyone on there who has met another AN member and hit it off, but one never knows. Good luck with it though. I'm sure there are some women from Houston on here. I'd like to be just as lucky as well. It seems most gay men (outside of AN) are threatened by the word Atheism, for some reason.
