Your Ideals and the Corporate World

Now-a-days, everyone is searchable. Type your name into Google and your Facebook, Atheist Nexus, Left Take, and Micheal Moore fan clubs are all pegged next to your name. Not to mention anything you have written in a forum and placed your name on.

My Aunt says that i shouldn't do ANYTHING that keeps me from getting a job (yep...wonderful Florida economy); that corporations are keeping tabs on us and search us when we apply.

Some of the things I have out there are extremely left of center, but I honestly don't want to work for a Rupert Murdock....yet I still want to work.

What do you think?

Why anyone wants to spatter their personal details all over the 'net is beyond me. It will come back and bite you, somewhere, some time, guaranteed. Once you post your information, its gone. You have zero control over where it will end up or how it will be used. You can't delete it. The big portals say you can, but you can never be sure. Google keeps caches of everything, then there's the internet Way Back Machine are just 2 services that keep copies of copies of copies.

Your privacy is everything - you should learn to value it.
