Hi Guys,

I'm happy that my first blog spot is in the midst of a group of like-minded atheists!

But now, I'm stunned as to what I want to say.

I was talking with a friend yesterday about wanting a Blog spot, and here now I find that I have one... Well what to do now!

OK, perhaps I need to go an have a look at some other blogs and find out what is out there in Blog world.  Is it a place to spew out our hatred on the world, or a place, of peace and sanctuary away from the criticism and judgement of the real world?  Is it a place to explore my deepest fears, or my greatest dreams?

I wonder, so others get to comment on my blog?  That's sounding scary - all that judgement and criticism... can I handle it?  Is it valuable to me?  Perhaps it is just their projection of self onto what they see in me?

Well, from this beginning, I believe my Blog will include all of the above and have a philosophical bent to it...

Lets see.

Alice :)

Well, I'm well used to dealing with differences of opinion, so I feel confident to express compassion, if they come up... I can see already that there are some topics that I'm at odds with in here... nothing macabre, just different life experience leading to different life choices... Being a Naturalist, I understand that we are all fully caused, and therefore anticipate that we all have different views and opinions based on our unique experiences in life... Thanks for the heads up!

Yikes, you must feel like an alien in your own skin. I have atheists friends and family so that makes me lucky.

You are correct. There is alot of common ground among atheists. But you will find that there are significant differences of opinion too and that atheists are as hard to persuade as theists.

Thanks Glen, I will be aiming to be true... and plain, and I find that I feel very open here to be myself and express as I will.... I have nothing (much) to hide, and feel very free sharing with like minded people. I live in the 'real' world surrounded by Theists - literally, I've got 3 athists in my family and friends, two friends live 800 kms away and my dad lives on the other side of the earth!

LOL.... yes, I figure your blog Sean is in a non-atheist context...?
As I was just going to writing in here, were I know I’m safe from the outside jungle.... Not sure I'm ready to navigate that yet!

And yes Glen, I can see how atheists are so very different... but the commonality of world view is very reassuring and useful... I feel a real sense of trust in here, that I'm going to get interesting and honesty responses and interaction, which is really inspiring....

God help me if I have to go out there and trawl through all the crap to get to the facts again any time soon.... :)

My reckoning is dead reckoning, so the seas are not always navigable. Atheists are coming from different places. Where atheists are militants the sentiment arises in a cauldron of incredulity for religious stew and a desire to right things.

Just be true to yourself, Alice.

Alice - I just started mine on blogspot back in November.  It's amazing how much inspiration is available everyday in the news that beckons for opinion.  I know what you mean about starting though - my first post was a similar tabla rosa.

Getting Started

I started with the idea of writing a politically centrist oriented blog, but the more I got to writing, I found myself adding more militant atheism in the writing - especially to combat the right and religious extremists... :)

Sounds good Cliff...

Not sure about the Craigslist reference.... what do they do?  I've got a link to a classified in Tasmania here? LOL - I can see they might spew out some hatred every now and again.... :)
