Why wont the Pope answer a few questions?

Nothing is being done about it because no one with enough clout is holding Joe the Rat's feet to the fire.  He and his predecessors have presided over one of the greatest scandals in human history and, because he and his cult are supposedly "holy," he is not held to account.

Now that does not mean that he doesn't take a hurt from his actions.  Ireland is now falling away from the church at a precipitous pace.  The US is shedding catholics as well, though probably not as rapidly.  I have little doubt but that much of the first world is far more skeptical of the occupants of Vatican City than they were 10 years ago, which is very likely why the efforts of the RC church have been turned on Africa, which is far less educated and far more superstitious, ripe ground for new growth.

What needs to be done from here is more of what has been done to this point: not letting up on Joe or his posse, maintaining the pressure, and when they do screw up (and they will again), pushing ever harder for jail time for offenders and sanctions against their organization.
