Question:
"Do(n't) you believe in God?"

Answer 1:
"Which god?"

Answer 2:
"Of course not!"

Which is better? Answer 1 or answer 2.

Of course, there may be better, more effective, answers to this and I'd love to here them.

My all-time FAVORITE situation akin to this is when a Christian mentions something to do with the evil workings of Satan... when prodded to comment, I get to tell them--"Hey, I don't believe in your "good" god OR your bad god!" . That is so much more satisfying than the "Yeah, so see... I'm an atheist.", which is kind of a boring response...

I second zeeman's approach. It not only gets rid of that preposterous assumption that the Christian god is all there is, but also that everybody believes in it (or Torah God/Allah, or some other god).

I think both can be used for the one, two punch. Example....

Question:
Do you believe in God?

Answer 1:
"Which god?"

Questioners reply:
"(enter their god here)"

Answer 2:
"Of course not!"

see? fun!
