Metaphysics states that false existence claims are impossible. How can some people say that God does exist? Probably they believe that there is something outside the World. Still, they maintain, this being is somehow real. They simply think about some unnatural class and say something not meaningful.

What really bugs me are the arguments that god does not exist, he just Is, or he has Beingness rather than existence. I remember in my metaphysics class learning about Carnap and Quine and all those metaphysicians going over the terminology and the arguments, and it isn't easy stuff to keep in one's mind. I have no talent for it. But my intuitions are usually enough to clue me in on poor arguments, and trying to get around existence is always one of those one's that make me ask, "really?" As if there is some other kind of existence other than existence. Bothersome!
