What is your reason to non-belief? Science or otherwise?

I am a non-believer because I have arrived upon conclusions scientifically. I have seen people who became atheists because they think "god has been bad to them" and not really for scientific reasons. But I feel the decision should be based on logical grounds rather than emotional ones. What does everyone feel about this?

Personally, I came at it from any angle I could, though mainly through a philisophic and scientific route. I was a 'closet deist' for a long time, but the post I just put up - An Ontological Basis, For the Denial of God - pretty well details the final philosophical hurtle for me.

When I was 5 or 6 and found out about Santa I just assumed that all the invisible creatures that people talked about were just stories like Santa Claus and the whole North Pole bit. I recall, when I was older, my cousin and I made a list of imaginary creatures (we were really bored) - god was high on the list. Since then, I have never changed that POV.
However, my father was a closet Atheist and my mother viewed church as a social event. I can't recall a single religious discussion in my house as I grew up. Although I attended church with my mother a few times, religion was never forced on me.
As such, I would have to say science had nothing to do with it.

I was doubting at age 4, while singing Jesus Loves Me. Science didn't have much to do with it. It was creepy, being expected to love an invisible man.

I don't believe for lack of logical reason to believe.

I was lucky to have lapsed Catholic parents who were quite bitter with the church so I was never pressured to believe. When I asked them why I wasn't baptised or go to church they said I "could make that decision for myself" when I was older. by the time I was 12 I was pretty convinced god was bunk ... so no 'negative god episode' for me.
