Leave the dating websites alone. All the guy on there are predators or just plain creepy and all the girls are desperate and crazy. the few people on those sites that are worthy of a date fall through the cracks cause of the bs from the crazies. at least from what I can tell

I have just quit the website. I dated a few times from it, and I was put off by the males I met from there that had a sense of entitlement. It was weird that it kept on happening. Maybe it was my choice in males, but it was a major league turn-off.

I did the round of dating sites about 10 years ago. It's amazing how fake people are on there, sometimes. I ended up going out at least once with a number of different types of freak before I gave it up. The Mormon, the girl who I knew it wouldn't work but she wouldn't quit asking me out till I finally said yes -- and it didn't work, the psycho who stood me up, the girl that only wanted to cook dinner for her man, praise god and have children (I'm sure she made *someone* a good wife), and turned down the one who told me she'd have to lie to her parents about where who she was with (just like she lied about her age on her profile). All in all, never had much luck with those sites. Of course, being in an intensely religious city and being only willing to consider those of above average intelligence who are also atheists... has led to my remaining single! Well, better to live life true than as a lie... except in the Darwinian sense :)

If you search under Google for atheist dating sites several will come up - including eHarmony.  I looked at several of them a few years ago and didn't like the terms of service (read the terms of service carefully). I don't trust dating web sites and have never used them. I've heard to many creepy stories about dating and singles web sites. I suppose skype and telephone conversations could filter some of the problems out. Having said that, I've met and become friends with numerous people through atheist and other special interest discussion groups. 

 

I think it's better to get out in the world and meet someone through a friend or by happenstance.

I don't know why it upsets us to be insulted when we know that what the person is saying is not a true statement. But it does.

 

I remember someone tried to chat with me on OKcupid, and when I didn't write back within 30 seconds he started saying stuff I like sucks and I should go on a diet.

 

I had the last laugh, though, as a few weeks later he was trying to chat me up again, apparently forgetting that earlier incident, telling me I look sexy. I was like "oh well, last week you said I was too fat".

Sorry I didn't explain things better, I was pretty frustrated last night. Basically I wrote you a very nice letter, and hit send... and nothing happened. I was trying to figure out how to make it send, and nothing I did worked, then I sort of lost the letter in the process. So I wrote another letter, and that didn't send either. I reset the computer and tried again, and nothing.

As for "I'm assuming you are hitting on me" well, yeah that was kind of what I had in mind :p. Is there some other way to contact you? An email address or AIM / Yahoo name or something? I'm having trouble with the mail system on this, and don't want to muck up your posts with lots of off topic stuff. Plus there's the whole public thing, I wouldn't want the thousands of other guys that are hoping to win you over stealing all my material :p

It's not a Christian dating service. I never got hassled for stating I'm an atheist on it. LOL, Why do people in here have to link negativity to Christians?

I'm assuming you are hitting on me. I didn't get any email, if you want to talk to me, you don't have to backtrack on your previous attempts. I'm not too hard to talk to.

Plenty of fish sounds like a christian dating service to me. What do you expect?
