Yes, comments is the place to spread announcements. I would also 'start a discussion' so that it doesn't get lost after many comments are posted.
Yep, blogging and comments are usually the ways people announce things here.

I copy pasted this same announcement on the IndianAtheists group comments- as per your suggetion.
Is "comments" the right place to post this kind of announcements?
Or is there a better way of announcing such things?
You know I am new this Atheist Nexus - so your guidance will be helpful.
