Perhaps I'm not looking in the right places. I just can't seem to find any local atheist groups that focus on doing charitable work or supporting equality in my community. Another poster
pointed out that among the 200 organizations that recently supported Washington Families Standing Together, a group that campaigned to protect domestic partnerships in my state, there wasn't a single organization of non-believers on the list. For a community that so overwhelmingly supports equality, how sad is that? In a state where 25% of the population identifies as "none," I find it hard to imagine that I'm the only one in the area interested in these things. So what gives? Are we just that unorganized? Are Washingtonians simply that lazy or that callous? And where should I proceed from here?
