THE SECURITY YOU GET from health insurance reform:
* No Discrimination for Pre-Existing Conditions
* Insurance companies will be prohibited from refusing you coverage because of your medical history.
* No Exorbitant Out-of-Pocket Expenses, Deductibles or Co-Pays
* Insurance companies will have to abide by yearly caps on how much they can charge for out-of-pocket expenses.
* No Cost-Sharing for Preventive Care
* Insurance companies must fully cover, without charge, regular checkups and tests that help you prevent illness, such as mammograms or eye and foot exams for diabetics.
* No Dropping of Coverage for Seriously Ill
* Insurance companies will be prohibited from dropping or watering down insurance coverage for those who become seriously ill.
* No Gender Discrimination
* Insurance companies will be prohibited from charging you more because of your gender.
* No Annual or Lifetime Caps on Coverage
* Insurance companies will be prevented from placing annual or lifetime caps on the coverage you receive.
* Extended Coverage for Young Adults
* Children would continue to be eligible for family coverage through the age of 26.
* Guaranteed Insurance Renewal

Yes, this is the lowest income area out of the 4 quarters of Ohio, we have no major cities within southeastern Ohio unlike the other 3 quarters having Columbus, Cleveland and Cincinnati. On top of that, you have a poorly informed and poorly educated populace.
When I have explained to a few that most civilized countries in the western hemisphere have some sort of universal healthcare besides Canada, they become arrogant with pride and retort something silly like... "If universal heathcare really worked, The U.S. government would have had universal healthcare years ago".
Good questions Felch, I have a pretty good idea of what their answers to your 3 questions might be.... "A blank stare". Oh, I'm sorry, that would be a reaction, not an answer. Sadly that's probably all I'd get though. LOL

The greatest achievement of the Republicans is getting the poor to hate the poor, instead of those that are really robbing them. You should ask them - what country has universal healthcare actually bankrupted, and why are their health services more efficient and cost less per capita than anywhere in the US ? Also, ask them why the believe it is a fundamental right for a US general practitioner to be a millionare by age 35 in light of all this ?

When I talk to people in my jobless, low income, religiously minded, republican dominated area of southeastern Ohio. I find almost everyone totally opposed to allowing their own tax dollars to fund their healthcare, why??? They usually answer....
"Because they don't want to wait in waiting room lines and put up with poor medical services like Canada has to put up with in the Canadian healthcare system".
Of course, most of these same backwards people are appalled that Obama is president, They fear that "He" will take away their guns, They believe that Obama was born in the "country" of Africa etc.... I'm sure you get the picture.
