Comment by Loren Miller on November 23, 2011 at 10:25am They also aren't much conversant with science in general or the scientific technique ... OR with recent or even not so recent scientific developments. Then, too, lots of people don't follow science, yet recognize the benefit which science brings to their everyday lives. Too often, the creationists and evangelicals just automatically compartmentalize such stuff away from their faith (that stuff's corrosive, ya know!).
Comment by Maruli Marulaki on November 23, 2011 at 10:13am I do not think that Creationists are aware of a scientific majority being in favor of evolution. I assume that they project and believe, that nearly everybody else is also a Creationist. They only mix with their own kind, and they have probably also some selective perception making them oblivious for anything except their own menatlly curtailed religious world. They perceive the scientists in favor of evolution as the odd and weird minority.
