Hats off to CBS for airing this piece and Loki Films (Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady) for once again showing us the nasty truth of how the sausage is made. Like "Jesus Camp" before, it shows indoctrination techniques used by (especially evangelical) Christianity; I loved the "special blessings" (punishments). What's more, their victim targets are the most vulnerable in society, the young and impressionable, the old and frail, and the impoverished. All for a gnostic cult that was effectively the same as hundreds of others hailing from the Eastern Mediterranean.
It's a sad story that is all too familiar; one of programming by the superstitious to the next generation, teaching rote techniques to reel in yet further victims into their web rather than teaching young people critical thought. What's more, this cult, Christianity, alongside it''s Abrahamic sibling Islam, is responsible for the vast majority of pain and misery in this world.
I must say, it's sad to see that after approximately 10,000 years of written human history, and despite all the technology and knowledge we have accrued, that so many people still hold fast to the blind faith of ancient superstition when all that energy could be put to solving world problems instead of creating them. I''m deeply troubled about this reality.
