The Good Ship Earth - a picture of wealth distribution (INFOGRAPHIC)

http://www.johndunsworth.com/goodshipearth/

Imagine if a ship represented earth's resources/GDP, and 1000 passengers represented the earths population.

By my calculations, 1 guy would represent all the millionaires and billionaires, and he'd have 2/3rds of the ship to run around in.

This is a completely arbitrary and useless model. Why? Because wealth is not a zero/sum pie. If one person has four pieces, it doesn't mean they have YOUR piece. Especially since you did not bake a pie. It means that they generated more wealth than you did. Does that mean you are entitled to what they generated or produced?

Imagine a ship represented by all productive effort on the Earth. How much of that ship did you produce? Or are you just on the internet whining?

Henry Ford did not become wealthy by creeping into your house and stealing your TIVO. He became wealthy by developing a product people wanted and would willingly pay him for.

Have you?

Then shut the fuck up.

Does a person purposely steer themselves away from the money machines? I do.
