When is the last time you read a book that challenged your beliefs? Most of my readings consist of books on science because I want to learn and gain a better understanding of how the universe works. So, how in the world did I end up agreeing to read Lee Strobel’s “The Case For Christ”?

About a year ago, I convinced my brother Kyle, a Christian, to read “The Greatest Show on Earth: The Evidence For Evolution” by Richard Dawkins. After a brief discussion on evolution, I suggested that he borrow my copy of the book and read it when he had a chance. Fast forward a year, and it’s still collecting dust on his bookshelf. So, I decided to make a deal with him. If he would agree to read “The Greatest Show on Earth”, I would agree to read any book that he chose. His choice for me was “The Case For Christ”.

I won’t lie and say I’m excited to read it, but I am taking our book swap serious. When we are both finished, Kyle will join the podcast, and we will discuss our thoughts on both books and the whole book swap experience.

I think I might consider doing this with my Christian friend, though she might not want to. It's only fair though, their always telling us to read the Bible so we can understand. Yet they shy away from reading another view...I feel if your belief is strong enough it shouldn't matter what you read.

Thanks Loren. I'm sure I will come to similar conclusions as Steve. I will be sure to check out his videos. I'm just trying to take one for the team if it can help convince my brother to read "The Greatest Show on Earth"

The Case for Christ is a waste of paper. Atheist Nexus member Steve Shives is currently in the process of tearing Lee Stroebel a new one with his analysis of that book. I recommend it highly - the analysis, that is. Lee and his waste paper can go suck eggs!
