I don't know exactly how this will go, but I have a lot of respect for this man. I've known him for 4 1/2 years now. I forget how the subject came up at all, but yesterday (seeing as it's now 2am) I 'came out' as an Atheist to him. He seemed rather surprised. (Seeing as I live in Georgia most people are surprised. I'm not shy about my beliefs. I don't shout about them, but when presented with an opportunity I gladly share my views.) He also teaches courses at a local college to do with religion and philosophy. Those two don't seem to fit together in my mind, but that's what he does. I'd love to take one of his courses just to see where he goes with it.

He's read The God Delusion and said he disagrees with Dawkins on everything. He said to me, "His science is all wrong." I'm curious to see what science he has to counter Dawkins. I have not quite finished The God Delusion, but I told him I agree with what I have read by Dawkins. That's when I told him I'm Atheist. I look forward to a discussion with him on all this. Should be fun, eh? Not as much fun as respectfully poking some JW's with a stick, but fun.
