I would have said, "Myths and fables in the stable." Jesus wasn't born on Christmas nor was he the son of God.

And, nothing personal, Cliff; you seem like a good guy.

I'll bite. Two cents is about right, Cliff. (We share that name, BTW.) The manger story IS a myth, and there is freedom of speech here, and even more so these days, freedom of advertising. Bad Taste? The reeking Christian myth is in bad taste -- god-rape of an underage virgin, 3-day-old zombie god-corpse waking up and selectively doing magic to people -- and what's much, much worse is the power of the myth over people like you, Cliff, who seem to have allowed yourself to be convinced that somehow religious nonsense is off-limits. Is it respect that we should afford the Christianists, which is the word for people who think the institution itself should abide? What's respectable about a two-millennia history of genocide, misogyny and misanthropy? Read their bible; their god clearly hates humanity.

And on a more direct interpersonal note: What's respectable about you, a total stranger, trying to control MY tastes? Clutch your pearls tight!; you're not getting any support from me. Bad taste alert! These arrogant Christian ASSHOLES who have foisted their BULLSHIT on humanity for 2000 years can FUCK OFF with their oh-so-sensitive little faith, demanding respect, of all things, from us who just want them to get out of our faces, not to mention our schools, legal system, entertainment industry, communications media, I could go on. But I will give them this: they tell the big lie, and they tell it far and wide, unlike simpering apologists. (Although they do make it on the 'net.)

Humbug!
