So long as unreformed Islam prevails in Muslim countries, expect the worst. From A you get B. Islam is an evil barabaric ideology masquerading as a religion. The moral is: polio is just one of many problems that will pervade in Islamic countries until the demented ideology is rooted out.
But alas, Islam is unreformable so the only hope is mass apostasy, which is mission impossible. Anyway, the West is dogged with its own problems and is thoroughly sick of trying to democratize Muslim countries. So don't expect any progress on polio in these countries anytime soon.
