Recently joined AN curious to see how other atheists see things. In general I am impressed but you guessed it-not entirely. When atheists looks at a mass-murderer and the victim's entrails are exposed too many will ask whether the sociopath's third cousin once removed is in fact a cyclops. If I may use a cliche you are missing the forest for the trees. All of the speculation about JC is overdone. There is a focus on theology which misses the point. Obviously religion is a steaming pile of bullshit-lies on top of lies and suckers eating it and saying it tastes really good.
For centuries religion and the state have partnered to provide a stage for war, torture, slavery, persecution and discrimination of Blacks, Jews, women, children, gays, and native non-europeans. Religion continues to fester and atheists continue to argue about theology. The masses have digested hook, line and sinker the great lie equating religion and morality. I'd ask the aforementioned murderer for ethical advice before I would ask any religious figure. One of the major problems in getting my point accross is the dearth of knowledge and understanding about religion's impact. We need an encyclopedia. One or two authors per category. Atheists can donate the dough for what will be a major undertaking. It would be incredibly enriching to have the research and analysis in front of us and use that knowledge to shine the light of reason on a civilization in decay. Our own bible researched and factual. Bring on the debate. Expose the great lie.

If our citizens are not ignorant enough Oz added an extra dollop of dumb. Probably some ill persons will forego medical treatment and ask J C's intermediary for a favor.
