Here is my response to a writer who says her home is a "porn free zone."

Unfortunately, this writer is grossly misinformed about all things sexual. Humans are built for sex, love sex and visual and written porn have been a part of sex as long as history has been recorded. Romance novels are as much porn as any movie. Women in general respond to written or spoken porn men more to visual porn. That is the way our brains are wired. I would imagine that this writer has a gay free zone in her home as well. Should one or more of her children turn out to be gay, are they disallowed to express or read about their sexual preference. It is probably a sex education free zone where open and frank and science based sex ed is not allowed. It is probably a fantasy free zone where neither she nor her husband discuss, act out or enjoy their fantasies with each other. It may well also be a masturbation free zone since people (male and female) masturbate often to stories, pictures and sounds. I feel sorry for her and her husband. Their sex life must be pretty impoverished if there is no opportunity for stimulation or learning. She can have her porn free zone just don't decide you can force me into a porn free zone by voting in porn free legislators.

I've known some supposedly enlightend atheists who have a rabid irrational porn phobia (and are open to censorship as long as it's porn that's being censored).

go figure
