A facebook friend of mine who is a minister happens to be posting "dumb laws".  I'm not sure where he's getting them, but what an opening for me!  I'd like to post a few in response.

His latest...

Pointless Laws and Dumb Laws:

Kentucky-
Throwing eggs at a public speaker could result in up to one year in prison. (What about tomatoes?)

... Indiana-
No one may throw an old computer across the street at their neighbor.

Illinois-
It is illegal to give a dog whiskey.

Now, I keep hearing that South Carolina or a nearby state actually still has a religious test on the books for running for public office.  Hard to believe and I couldn't find any credible source for it, so can someone point me to that?

Any other anti-atheist or Anti-Gay laws would also be interesting.  Even a pro-religious law may be a good "pointless & dumb one".

So, please send any good laws I should respond with.  If possible, provide some reference so I can verify it.

Thanks!

I live in Kentucky, so I can tell you that people who throw eggs at politicians are being rude.

A) Eggs are produced year-round. Tomatoes mature for just a short time.
B) Try cleaning egg off a silk tie.
C) Tomatoes are known for their odor eliminating qualities. Rotten eggs? Eww.
D) Eggs are used in Easter celebrations which means Jesus likes them.
and
E) Abortion is murder.

Regarding the laws that AnneT pointed to...  I can't believe someone doesn't challenge some of these.  I realize that you have to have standing to challenge them, but it should be easy to create that situation, especially if you have a friend help by charging you with blasphemy or ineligibility for office or whatever.
