This is my version of the Pledge of Allegiance.

"I pledge allegiance to the Constitution of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it was written, one nation, under the laws of said document, indivisible, where liberty and justice should be for all."

After all, the flag is just a symbol of the nation. It's the constitution that makes the nation what it is (or should be). I mean, even when you join the military you are vowing to defend the Constitution, not the flag. If you pladge allegiance to anything in this country I believe this one is more fitting.

My daughter asked me about "under God" and I told her that lying in a pledge to your country is shameful to you and or anyone else. She has the ability to choose what ever theist/non-theist view she desires. I will not hinder her choice. She sides with me (as most young children do). i told her just say it and when they say under God don't say it. If a teacher says something to her about it then I will have a conversation with him/her and the principal. I truely would rather see it removed but at this point saying the original pledge is good enough for me.
