Hopefully you can read that.

I'm not sure how to respond. If anyone can help, I'd greatly appreciate it.

The plain text is him. The text in the blue box is me. It's his post quoting me. I had hoped that would be obvious, though, but that's my fault... I assumed that everyone knew what those kinds of forums looked like...

This link is where our particular discussion in the thread started:

Here's my response to the above:

Also, I just realized... you're viewing the thread in "threaded mode". If you prefer it, that's fine. However, I find threads on such forums easier to navigate in linear mode. If that'd make it easier, just go into "Display" (on the right-hand side on the top of the thread) and select "Switch to Linear Mode"... if you want to. It shows the posts from earliest-posted to latest-posted.

It's not terribly easy to decipher, especially since you haven't given us any details. One has to read at least halfway through to guess that the person in question (could we have a name please?) is speaking in the plain text, while your responses are indented in blue? And the discussion touches on so many points. Was there a specific point you had in mind? It seems like you ran up against a theist with a terrific grasp of all the arguments (I have a continuing dialogue with one as well, and it is NOT easy stuff), and frankly, you seem a little out of your element. Is that why you are asking for help, because you haven't got any real solid idea of how to argue at such a high level? I didn't see anything really glaring about his responses, he was right about the problem of induction, philosophers haven't "solved" the problem as posed by Hume (my favorite philosopher btw). There are arguments one can give, of course they wouldn't convince someone of his caliber, but it does look like you need help. But you have to help us help you first. Some specifics would help.
