One of the things that really pisses me off about the religious.

I found this blog post while researching corporal punishment news for P-TAVE (Parents and Teachers Against Violence in Education). I am appalled that people are so okay with this that they post it for the world to see. I can't believe the idiocy of these parents and I have much sadness for these poor children.

Obeying Jesus
Yesterday morning started off wonderfully. Then, about mid-morning, Gilbert couldn't take it anymore and started to act like a 2 year old:) After telling him twice to do something and having him not obey me, I said "ok, come with Mommy, you need a spanking." He followed and I sat him on my knee and proceeded to tell him why he gets spanked, something we do every time he is disciplined. It went something like this: "Gilbert, Mommy loves you soooooooo much and when you disobey, I have to spank you. Do you remember who Mommy is obeying when I spank Gilbert?" To which he answered in almost a whisper "Jesus." I said "Very good! That's right." Then proceeded with the spanking which always ends with asking forgiveness from Mommy and Jesus, then lots of hugs and kisses. He was allowed to go back to playing. About 2 minutes later, he disobeyed again and I told him to come with me, that he needed another spanking. He got up from the floor where he was playing and started pleading with me "No obey Jesus! No obey Jesus!!!" I had to bite my tongue to keep from laughing at that one, but we obeyed Jesus instead!:)

The dad is a kindergarten/first grade teacher at a christian school. They're being paid for their sadism.

They probably yanked the post because they saw the hits coming from here and noticed the evil atheists were criticizing their child abuse for Jesus. But there's Google Cache to the rescue. They can run, but they can't hide.

The post is gone! I wonder why they took it down?

Is she rearing her child to be The Marquis DeSade or something?

I really feel sorry for that boy. I wish that someone could do something for him. It makes me sick that this sort of abuse is tolerated.

They must have taken that one down. I was going to post a comment that he would be screaming that for the rest of his life, lol!

Sorry about the link. I fixed it. That will really freak them out when they see traffic from Atheist Nexus! I hope he grows up to be atheist but it sounds like they're creating a future youth pastor with a spanking fetish.

This is just so sick.

I bet, though, that the poor kid will grow up to be firmly atheist, since he's able to make the connection between obeying Jesus and being an asshole at a very young age.

River Otter "in my opinion, this is child abuse". I couldn't agree with you more. I feel terrible for the kid and the countless others this happens to daily.

I went to the link you posted. I wanted to comment on this barbaric behavior. I couldn't find it.

This woman is a hypocritical loon! Hell, she can't even obey jesus and I wanted to remind her of that.

Anyhow, in my opinion, this is child abuse. It is one thing to whoop a childs behind once in a while to get their attention, but to justify it by using '' jesus '' is insane and to do it on a regular basis is physical & mental abuse. Some people shouldn't be allowed to breed.
