As an atheist, this Examiner is often told by god-believers that their particular view of their particular religion is the only path to Heaven. This week, the Washington Post’s “On Faith” section asks: What is Heaven like?

“What is your vision of heaven? What images - from Scripture, tradition, culture or your personal experience - best describe heaven for you?”

Modern mainstream Judeo-Christian culture tells us that Heaven is an eternal paradise. This is opposed to “the other place” which is described as a place of eternal torture. But aren’t both places really eternal torture when you think about it.

I think the standard Xtian vision of heaven is probably little different than that of the Romans Elysian Fields. It's sort of a wide savanna with ideal weather, beautiful people and no want for anything. After a couple of decades of that I'd be a screaming loon looking to kill something.
To make it worst you would have to deal with the all powerful, erratic psychopath - forever ... gak!!.
