Comment by Prog Rock Girl on May 14, 2011 at 6:15pm Intuition or gut feeling is sometimes instinct, or things picked up in an animalistic sense, but it is not something picked up by being psychic. Too often though, people say they are going by intuition when really they are seeing whatever they want to see.
Karma: once in awhile people get what's coming to them. For instance if you screw over enough people they might gang up on you and have their revenge. It's not a foolproof universal system of justice, though. You can always skip town before people are able to have their revenge.

Comment by Richard Healy on May 14, 2011 at 3:22am I once told that joke at a sceptics meeting. Imagine, if you can, the outraged stares I got back (like a troop of baboons going "oooh") when I got as far into the delvery as "believe in karma."
I've been worried about being taken seriously ever since.

Comment by Richard Healy on May 14, 2011 at 2:11am I believe in karma.
I do terrible things to infants and small animals all day long and I assume they deserve it.
Steve is talking sense, whereas I am joking.
Comment by Renshia on May 14, 2011 at 1:50am I believe in gut instinct or intuition. There are times when things just don't feel right. Maybe it's just being aware of your surroundings but, it has served me well. Many times I have changed a course of action or strategy because, my gut said no and later found out is was the right thing to do. Again, I think it comes with the degree in which a person pays attention to their surroundings.
As far as karma, well I guess if that's what you want to call it then yeah, I think we can attract negative and positive things into our lives. But again it comes from being aware. If you manage your life sufficiently, you will create the life you want, if you mismanage it then, the results will show for themselves. There's no magical force but actions have consequences.
Comment by Brian George on May 14, 2011 at 12:36am I don't believe in karma at all. To me karma implies that there is some external balancing force controlling the events of peoples lives and the world. To me it's just wishful thinking that there's some force at work when we actually get to see someone get what they deserve. I agree with Steve that the ideal of karmic justice is based on our counting the hits and not counting the misses. I think if there really was "karma", we'd have a much smaller prison population and much more land being used for cemeteries.
Again I'll agree with Steve and others that intuition is based on the sub-conscious ability to recognize patterns based on past experience. Beyond that, you start delving into the "psychic" realm.

ContinueNathan Young That's true Jonathan Brown. At one time I was a member of the MRA board when it was more open towards hearing an orthodox Mormon views on things. Since that time the MRA is now under the stewardship of a new 'religion' the 'Society for Humanistic Mormonism' which is merely another apostate religion. It will fail just like all other apostate forms of Mormonism have failed including might I add the Mormon "Transhumanist" Association and their kind, and all the front…

Hello fellow atheists! I have joined this site in an attempt to find other rational individuals, such as myself, and to promote a current charity drive that I am trying to get going for the Oklahoma tornado victims. I have managed to get many groups from around my area, including the Beyond Belief Foundation to back me on this endeavor.
I am located in Newnan, Ga and have my own atheist group entitled "Coweta County Atheists". I am currently being backed by Spaulding Co.…
