Take care of yourselves: eat right, exercise, drive safely, control you temper, think hard about who you date/marry... Love yourself enough

I was in a big hurry. Apologize for the misspelling and lack of content/further explanation.
Over 70% of all illnesses/diseases are preventable. Preventing sickness is a cheaper, happier, easier, more humane way of living life...hell, preventing any kind of catastrophe, for that matter!
Brain injuries and birth defects can OFTEN be prevented: don't partake in dangerous activities (including football); research your mate's and your own genetic history before having kids; research nutrition, esp.folates, to prevent birth defects; don't have kids if you are over 40 yrs
old; don't ski if you are pregnant or smoke or drink or do drugs or take prescription meds...
I could go on a long time. Also, it is best to have a medical-emergency savings account. I'd rather do that than to give money to a big insurance company.
We don't always need 'professionals' to care for ourselves!!! The library and/or bookstore has given me more good advice than paying a doctor. My dad is a doctor and mom is a nurse. Both are fairly unhealthy people. My dad is fat and my thin mom has diverticulitis from a lack of fiber over many years. My thin brother Eric had his gallbladder fail on him at age 34 and my other 2 fat brothers are unhealthy. This isn't a good reason not to love them, but shouldn't we love ourselves enough to at least read ONE current book on health every year...preferably more. I hate needles and this lights a fire under my ass to study up on how to prevent getting stuck. If people don't love themselves enough to take care of their health, then love their family enough to do so. Or don't expect others to take care of you/pool health care insurance.
prevention is only as good as the people doing it. Now-a-days in medicine, people expect you ( or in my case as an Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant) to do it all; fix them. They do not want to take and responsibility for themselves, their poor habits and life styles.
Actually, preventate is a word - in Esperanto, but not English.
Not sure if there's any way to preventate a brain injury or genetic birth defect.
