Atheist Nexus

The World’s Largest Coalition of Nontheists and Nontheist Communities!

Well, guys, I have started a new group here on Atheist Nexus: Herculaneum: A Place for Men. Although I have trouble keeping up with the groups I’m in now, and although I have also turned down invitations to join other groups, I’ve been thinking about these issues for some time, and felt like starting Herculaneum was something I really wanted to do.

Herculaneum is a group where men can discuss and explore the ideas, goals, demands, ethics, sexuality, and nature of manhood and masculinity. It is a place where we are free to be ourselves, and discuss the issues most important to our identities as men.

I have already started two discussions to get us going: How do we define manhood in the 21st century? and Rites of Passage: A Lost Ritual?.

This is a private group, and discussions can be viewed by members only. Membership is open to males only. Please check us out and join us if you are interested.

Adam and Eve were lounging around the garden when God came to Adam and said:

ADAM, BECAUSE YOU WERE THE FIRST OF MY CREATIONS AND ARE SPECIAL TO ME, LO, I SHALL BESTOW UPON YOU A SPECIAL GIFT THAT DIFFERENTIATES YOU FROM OTHER BEASTS.
WALK WITH ME.

Adam said "Wow!" and began to follow after the Lord, but Eve stopped them.

"Wait a second, is only he getting a gift?" she asked

YES, replied God.

"Well that's not very fair. I can't help that you made him first, but I am his mate and should have a gift too."

God considered this for a moment and finally said, VERY WELL. BOTH OF YOU THINK UPON THE GIFTS THAT YOU WANT AND COME TO ME WHERE I WAIT, AT THE TREE IN THE CENTER OF THE GARDEN.

So Adam and Eve went off on their own to think upon what boon they would ask of the Lord. And then, independently, they sought him out to request what they would.

The next day, Adam swaggered up to Eve, filled with pride in his new gift.

"What did you ask for, Adam?" inquired Eve.

"I asked the Lord to let me write my name when I pee!" he beamed, and promptly whipped out his peter and wrote his name in cursive in the dust on the ground.

"What did you get?" he asked.

"Multiple Orgasms."
