Cheers for that, good stuff ... I've often thought the fact that people from different cultures, backgrounds, and with differing beliefs report the same experiences can only be explained in terms of neurology and chemistry.  The only other option, that people are having a genuine glimpse of the afterlife, doesn't really wash since everyone's experience is seemingly always positive (and it would be impossible for contradictory belief systems to be right).

Good article. Some of the comments are great too.  But other comments make it clear that no amount of evidence is going to stop people from being afraid of death and conjuring up a cure.
