Well, what does hold up the sky? Seriously, Matt. Muchas gracias for keeping the rest of us posted on yesterday's events. News coverage where I was at was zilch, so you were a very welcome source of info.

thanks for everyone who followed and encouraged me on, especially with a dwindling battery and the rain.  i stayed till the chilly end, despite my feet dying for rest, my back hating my evolutionary 4 legged forefathers/foremothers, my stomach crying for food, and my liver wondering if it would ever get poisoned again. 

my only conversation with a Believer was in the cab ride to the A/N after party, where my Pakistani cabby was quite certain that i am wrong in my disbelief (he had never heard of anyone who didn't believe in God before), his only evidence being "what holds up the sky?". 

the after party was great.  i had about an hour and a half to kill so i hit up the bar, which was 100% Atheist as far as i could tell.  i ended up meeting an ex-Mormon Atheist from Arizona who had wonderful stories to tell.  i enjoyed a couple of "Hitchens Specials", the advertised drink special of the night!  two Johnny Black's, two Jim Beam and Coke's later, and after some free Pizza provided by the American Atheists, it was off to the After Party. 

first up, it was de-Baptisim time!  i got a certificate and everything!  on stage, i pretended to be knocked down by the power of the Blowdryer Spirit.  it was quite inspiring! 

i met, amongst others, Jerry Dewitt, Sean Faircloth, the Alabama "Atheist license plate" guy, Brother Richard (who i had also met at the A/N booth earlier), and Shelly Segal. 

a second $50 cab ride later and i was at my Mother's house in Fairfax, VA at around 1:00am.  all i can say is, what a day!

i'll post some pictures tomorrow.
