Just sunk another few hundred bucks into my other car......a 21 speed mountain bike......I love to ride. Low impact cardio vascular that gets one from point a to point b........with simply pedal power!  Time to make the donuts and begin the grind again! I know the feeling sentiment........I work 70 -plus hours a week........one day off.......I incorporate my riding into my commute right now........only time I have........gives me 50 plus miles per week......

A friend of mine traded his bike for a Volkswagen. His mechanic told him he needed a Cadillac converter, so they put one on the car. Dern thing never did turn into a Cadillac!

I've biked since 2000 all through the winter in upstate NY, carried up to about 90 pounds on the bike ... Used to bicycle my dog, that was a lot of fun.  before my dog allergy got so bad

I popped for a Specialized Roubaix this past summer and managed to put about 400 or so miles on it.  I had been riding a 20-year-old Centurion which was okay, but I decided it was time to cater to myself a bit.  Trying to ride here in Cleveland right now would be taking my life in my hands, but come April or thereabouts, I fully expect to be out and about again.

A man after my own heart! I biked commuted for over a decade. It was great!

There were challenges doing that in Chicago. The shortest route went through some iffy neighborhoods. Fortunately, I could bike faster than some people could run. Then there were the people who opened car doors suddenly.... and being Chicago, sometimes there was snow. But I felt like I was the "Road Warrior". And it felt good.

These days the neck spine suffers some of the consequences. If I could only retire, I might be back on the bike. Work hours too long, and body too tired now for bike commuting. Welcome to the 21st century.
