There is a skit from one of my favorite comedians, Aziz Ansari, that details his cyber battles with his younger cousin, Harris, via Facebook. Here's a link to it.

I'm starting to wonder if my born-again Christian sister is fucking with me in this fashion. I recently joined a group on Facebook, the Freedom From Religion Foundation. I'm a bit of an "old-school" Facebooker. I was on in 2004 when it was still fresh. This is back when you still needed to have a university email to sign up. I forget about the relatively new ticker activity chart along the side of the page. So the chain of events goes:

I join Freedom From Religion Foundation.

"Sean joined Freedom From Religion Foundation" appears on ticker activity chart.

Nutsy sister sees this activity and clicks page.

↓↓↓

Nutsy sister JOINS GROUP!!!

↓↓↓

Nutsy sister then begins TO COMMENT ON POSTINGS!!!

↓↓↓

Rational militant atheists pound nutsy sister into logical submission.

↓↓↓

Nutsy sister then begins to troll (so I've been told).
↓↓↓

Nutsy sister offers bible study via Facebook messaging to all of the members. Then reports some members. Original post gets removed.

"BOOT HER NOW!!!"

I ended up posting the day after letting everyone know it was my sister. I also said how myopic the people in church were. Any questions get deflected into the pool of faith or attacked for a lack of faith. I told how happy I am to not have that constant fear of being watched and judged. Also happy to be around like-minded people because there were times before I fully dropped religion when I felt like I was the only one with a functioning brain.

ME, your response is better than mine.  When people say they will pray  for me, I just stammer and then say "um, thank you".  Then I try to get away from them.

Good point SB but then again most Christians can't seem to reach a consensus on what they believe anyway. Must be either from not reading their own religious texts or being extremely loose in their interpretations. When a Christian tells me they'll pray for me I always find myself wanting to ask, "you don't think that'll anger all of the other gods that you don't worship?" I then remind myself that they're all made up so it doesn't really matter. :P

If being prayed for can save your soul, then for an atheist to be prayed for is like having your cake and eating it too.  On the other hand, most christians think you need to do the praying yourself I think.  m

lol In the event that everyone on this site is wrong and there is a Christian god, at least I've been prayed for. It's like having insurance I guess.
