I'd agree with everyone saying to find a hobby or interest, especially one that has a social dimension.  If you can at least keep your mind occupied, give you something to focus on, that's a plus.  If you can meet similarly minded people and get a date out of it, then that's a double-plus :)  Hope it goes okay - stay positive!

Yes, find a hobby. It does not matter what it is. Astronomy, photography, painting, chasing mailmen while dressed as a dog; so long as you enjoy it, and there are groups of people out there who meet up. Almost all the happy coupled people I know met through something like that.

thanks.  I will keep moving on.  You're right.  Life does have a way of throwing this stuff at us.  Just knowing you read my blog makes me feel better because I know that there are people that care.  Thanks.

Wow, booklover...that's awesome.  Yes we are still friends.  We have actually helped each other get dressed for "dates".  Yes, my job is family oriented so my got to know her and love her. @ AnneT-our atheist group just dissolved.  I will have to look for another one.  Of course the trouble is finding a free thinker that's a lesbian lol!!  And no, no grocery store knight in shining armour. @Steph-Thanks for your support.  It is appreciated.  I tried the "gay part" of eharmony for a while but it is quite expensive or it can be.  I will give that site a whirl.  I also tried match dot com but am not ready to pay for that either.

No grocery store knight in shining armour?  How can that be?  lol. 

I know nothing about dating but maybe someone can recommend freethinker match dot com or other atheist dating site? (but be careful of course.) There was some talk that eharmony is not all that atheist friendly. Have you tried going to a CFI or atheist club meetup in your town?

Sorry about you & your partner!  That's nice you can still be friends.  It's cool that the people you work with and your students will care about your break-up.  So many people don't like where they work.

Can't offer advice on the dating game, I met my husband in high school, got married 4 years later, and we've been married 23 1/2 years. lol.
