It's a long time since I've done the 'How many more sleeps?" thing, but I swear I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas.

What has me so excited? Well, it's embarrassing really. Really embarrassing. I'm nearly 51 years old and I should be excited about illicit love affairs, an exciting new high paying job, or buying a new yacht. Nope. Not even close.

Fact is, I'm looking forward to two big events coming up in Oz. The first is Richard Dawkins speaking in my home town in March. My local atheist friends and I crashed on to the website today and just about bought out the whole of Row A!

And just a week after that is the AAI Global Atheist Convention in Melbourne - again with Dawkins but with PZ Myers, Peter Singer, Stuart Bechman, Dan Barker, Taslima Nasrin and a heap more thrown in. Not to mention a HUGE weekend of partying in one of Australia's best cities.

No wonder I'm counting sleeps, eh? But wait - these events are going to be great, but they're not what's got me excited. No.

What's got me dancing around on tenterhooks is something I've ordered for the forthcoming 'BIG EVENTS' - I just can't wait for it to arrive - I really am counting the days. And yes, it IS embarrassing. What's got me so worked up is the imminent arrival of ......

my new Atheist Nexus Limited Edition T-shirt.

Yes, I'm a dork. I know. But having been involved with Nexus since its inception, I just can't wait to put that shirt on and strut my stuff (and believe me, I have a lot of stuff to strut)!

Yes, the postage from America to Australia cost almost as much as the damned shirt, but I don't care. I just HAD to have it.

Have you ordered yours yet?

You've got it already. Mine mightn't be far away. More anxious to get my eBay phone though.

Not much point in black t-shirts, Felch ol' boy. Better see if Richard can design some nice, thin white ones.

No, idea. Maybe Brother Richard's deciding whether we've been naughty or nice ....

It's perfectly logical to me - the convention should have a wet a|n t-shirt contest.

Come together one and all

Hello fellow atheists!  I have joined this site in an attempt to find other rational individuals, such as myself, and to promote a current charity drive that I am trying to get going for the Oklahoma tornado victims.  I have managed to get many groups from around my area, including the Beyond Belief Foundation to back me on this endeavor.

I am located in Newnan, Ga and have my own atheist group entitled "Coweta County Atheists".  I am currently being backed by Spaulding Co.…

Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film video

Posted by Debra Stevenson on May 21, 2013 at 2:37pm 0 Comments

There is a video of the Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film.  The man isn't demon possessed, there are likely no 'real' demons.  He's just delusional and doesn't want to accept personal responsiblity for his own behavior for his own dysfunctional life.

Do you support 'traditional' marriage, vot now ad

There is an ad that reads ' Do you support 'traditional' marriage? Vote Now"!  .

No, I don't support 'traditional' marriage because there is no such thing. I support heterosexual and same-sex couples marry each other legally , yes.  'Traditional' marriage promoters largely do not believe that heterosexual women are co-equal to their husbands.  Their only purpose in 'traditional' marriage is to sexually satisfy their husbands if they can and raise children and do all…

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/21/texas-merry-christmas-bill_n_3312786.html?utm_hp_ref=politics

i've got no problem with everyone saying "merry christmas" on christmas day.  however, they've turned it into an entire holiday season where it lasts a month or more.  in those situations it should be perfectly acceptable to say "happy holidays" or call it a…
