Iowa governor 'disturbed' by atheist bus ad message

Well, now that the atheist bus ads have been pulled from transit buses in Des Moines, controversy is brewing as to the truth of why they were pulled.

On the one hand, the transit authority claims that the ads were never approved in the first place and that they were accidentally put on buses. On the other hand, the group, Iowa Atheist and Free Thinkers, that sponsored the ads said the ads were approved.

Indeed. I think we are making some pretty important strides right now via all the organization - but in particular via the Secular Coalition. Hopefully, now that we have lobbyists in Washington and Sean Faircloth at the helm, we will see some great things happeneing in the near future.

This is a disgrace. This is complete discrimination against atheists. I can't believe how much atheists are persecuted in the US, and so openly. Freedom or Religion is not comparable to Freedom of Religion AND Non-Religion. The former is about being exclusive whereas the latter is about being inclusive. Dawkins is right; the time has come for atheists to stand up for their civil liberties.

Right? That is the absurd part. it is so not disturbing. In fact, with the clouds and all, it is pretty relaxing. :)
