If you were a god, what would you do?

For the first time in history we can seriously ponder the concept of creating a universe. OK, so we won't be creating a universe in the lab anytime soon, but we might soon find out that it is possible, at least in principle. And we can now ask-- scientifically-- if ours was created by an advanced civilization in another universe.

So here's the obvious question: If you created a universe and it goes on to develop intelligent life, what do you have the right to do with your people? Do you define morality? What are the ethics of creation?

Caps lock! HaHa! The key of doom. I love it. Man, you're almost as temperamental as yahweh.

If you worship me, you will go to hell.
If you use me as an excuse to perform some action, you will go to hell.
If you use me to dictate what your neighbour may or may not do if it doesn't harm anybody, you will go to hell.
If you even think about legislating for any kind of victimless crime, you will go to hell.
If you ever try to make a point that you are purer than your neighbour, you will go to hell.
If you believe in any kind of superstition, you will go to hell.
If you do not verify your links and google for supporting evidence for anything you state, you will go to hell.
If you type with caps lock on out of habit, you will go to hell.
If you use smilies or 'net shorthand, you will go to hell.
If you suppress flatulence, you will go to hell.

That's a start.

An interesting question for we former Mormons, since we believed that was our ultimate destiny - to become a god.

I always figured that it was patently obvious that to be a god meant such an alarming transformation that my personality would be completely lost in the process. So it wouldn't really be me being that God at all.

Imagine being a god? Might as well imagine being a stone. Conceptually,to me at least, its about the same trick.

Duane: Or setting them on fire. If I based my godlyness on what I do in the Sims I wouldn't even get around to creating intelligent life. I'd just build pretty houses for all eternity that nobody ever gets to live in.

I'd create another universe and get as far away from the human race as possible!

That's difficult to say because I am not a deity nor an advanced civilization, therefor cannot say how I would run the show lol... It's tricky, do you protect your creation? or do you allow it to run it's course uninterrupted? I have no idea. It's an interesting thought though.
