YOU SHOULD. Look into subscribing to “Stuff God Hates”, The current article dealing with Valentine‘s Day is hysterically funny. I’ve been an Atheist for 47 years; the day my Father died. Some well meaning person told me that it was god’s plan. There was no solice in that remark. It made me question why a god would take a father from a 18 year old boy. I went through al the stages of grieving but got stuck on angry; angry that this god had decided that my father was worth more to him, than to me on earth. I thought, “that egomaniacal viciously capricious prick”. Actually I didn’t really know what those words meant back then. It was more like “fuck you, god”.
So after 47 years of dealing with my atheism and a lot of introspection, nothing has changed.
I’m convinced that, as XTC would say, “we created you” to explain what our feeble little minds couldn’t grasp. Nothing has changed in 2000 years except that the loving god continues to allow hate, violence, disaster, famine and all other things horrid, to continue unabated. Oh I forgot, it’s god’s plan.
