Hello, all.

As I've posted in the 'About Me' section of my newly updated profile, I joined this site back in April of 2012. This place was quite refreshing then, as it is now. I was in a place where I was being oppressed by religion and this was one of few places where I could feel like I wasn't alone.

Soon after joining this site I enrolled in Job Corps and relocated to Joliet, IL in order to complete a Culinary Arts program and get my life back on track. While Job Corps itself was not the best experiences in the world, many good things did come out of it. I did acquire my Culinary certificate, as well as my driver's license (I had always sworn I would never drive :p). I also wrote, directed and produced my first original short film, and my husband proposed to me during the shoot. He was my antagonist in the film.

I've grown a lot as a person in such a short time. I've much more confidence now which has led me to become far more outspoken about all things, including my Atheism. My husband, who is also an Atheist, is my rock, as they say. He is also outspoken though not as much about religion as I. However, he supports me in all that I do and believe, and for that I will forever be thankful. Perhaps you all can find him about the interwebs ;)

It is nice to be back; I have been keeping an eye on blog posts and have done some lurking now and then, but life happened, good and bad, and I was distracted for a while. I can't promise that I will post much more now that my life has become rather busy, but I do want you all to know that I enjoy reading your community contributions, as well as your words of encouragement on my wall and blogs.

I wish you all the best in your endeavors, and have a good day.
