As many of you read online and in the NYT, there was a rather heated debate at the Council for Secular Humanism conference in LA. Not to recap, but it boils down to how we will interact with believers as the movement of nonbelievers moves forward. PZ Meyers is at the heart of the faction that wants aggressive confrontation, not violence, but it appears anything short of that is fine with him. I would love to hear his response to this to fill in and inform the debate. There is another faction who is seemingly much more conciliatory, even looking for allies among liberal believers.
From the perspective of the anthropological literature I find it difficult to support either faction.
