That's because you don't have enough faith!

Have you ever asked, “Why didn’t God answer my prayers?” Have you ever prayed for something but then did not receive it? Have you ever wished for something to happen, but it didn’t? Have you ever wondered why you couldn’t get along with your sister, love your neighbor, save your marriage, lose the weight, get that car, or anything else you prayed for that you didn’t get an answer to?

It may surprise you to learn that you may have had a part to play in your prayers not being answered! You prayers may not have been answered because you had so little faith! Your faith was too little to accomplish it!
Faith is believing what God says is true because it is God who said...

Well! There you go! It makes perfect sense!

Oh yeah, there's another freebie book out there: Exploring Life in Heaven. The author claims to "explore what life in heaven is like and show what you can do to prepare for it." Prepare for it? What, you have to pack? On pages 20-21, the author likens preparing for heaven to retirement planning: sending treasure ahead, earning rewards, winning the prize that Paul was talking about... The "prize" is supposedly "ruling and reigning with Jesus." That sounds like WORK to me! I thought this was retirement!

I can't believe I'm still reading this... Page 62, the author is referring to a prediction of the return of Jesus between September 11-13, 1988:

Our family was not sure that it would actually happen, but we wanted to be ready in case this was the real thing! It seemed so many signs pointed to this being the time! We had planned to go to Cedar Point, an amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio, on that day. We wondered if we should even go. What if we were raptured when we were on the roller coaster? What would happen to our dog that we would have to leave at home? Who would take care of him if we never came back?
They decided to go to the amusement park, but just in case...

We wanted to make sure our dog would be all right until someone found him, because if the Lord did come, we know we would be going with Him. So, we left a big bag of dog food open for our dog and left bowls of water. We even lifted the toilet seat covers just in case he needed more water! We left for the amusement park, thinking it would be neat to be raptured when high on a roller coaster. It would add to the excitement of the whole event.
Whoa. Crazy much?

The web site, the book, the stories, although humorous, sadden me a bit. This family took a trip to an amusement park, preparing the kids (and the dog) for the rapture! I'm curious to see how the children turned out.

God doesn't answer your prayers because he doesn't exist. Having faith in a deity whose "divine" words were actually written by humans is silly at best. We are responsible for our own thoughts and actions. Humans should have faith in themselves.
