Giving It The College Try

But according to Yoda, I should do...there is no try. OK, so what's on my mind? Well, I stumbled across this site while looking for support groups for overcoming compulsive overeating. The problem with support groups for that kind of thing is that 12 step is huge. There's OA and FAA that my therapist pointed me toward. There's no way I can possibly join a support group where at least 4 of 12 steps involve surrendering to and putting faith in a higher power that I don't believe in. They say they aren't about religion...it's like Invasion from Mars when the Martians are shooting at people and claiming to be our friends. Laughable if it weren't so fucking sad.

Let's see if Glade will manufacture a margarita scented plug-in :) Why not? There's a perfume company out there that's come out with scents such as Dirt, Play-Doh, Earthworm.

Comment by Karla on July 6, 2009 at 12:16am: Good friend decided to try out AA. I've lost her! She's now holier-than-thou and tears up when I mix a drink, lol, if she even stops over anymore. Needless to say, yep - she's now addicted to seeing everything as an addiction, great life. I've considered replacing her condo's plug-in scent gels with Margarita mix, maybe we'll get her back someday but I'm not holding my breath.

As far as I'm concerned 12 step groups simply replace one addiction with another one.
Sure that guy doesn't do heroin anymore, now he irritates the shit out of everyone else with Jesus. At least he didn't tell everyone how much of an awesome difference heroin made in his life.
