Funny Message Outside A Church Today

I was driving along this afternoon when I noticed this large sign next to a church that read:

"WE'RE ALL A MESS. THAT'S WHY WE HAVE A MESS-IAH!!!"

It was too funny! I'd thought I share it with you. It's so nice and comforting to know that there's a Messiah who is really helping people out of their messes. That includes all the thousands of people in the jobless mess, mortgage mess, bankruptcy mess, starvation mess, etc...

Thank you Messiah...for letting us know how much you care! Glory be to God. Amen!

Comment by Gwaithmir on March 26, 2011 at 10:48am: Well, God isn't supposed to be a sadistic, evil bastard because that's not how He's popularly defined by mainstream Christianity; although the bible seems to indicate otherwise. I'd have to go with REASON 2, however. God is supposed to be an all-loving, all-powerful and all-knowing being, yet He seems to remain strangely silent and unmoved when it comes to answering sincere prayers. I came to the conclusion long ago that prayer is ineffective because there's no supreme being to hear or act upon them.

Comment by 1311 on January 9, 2011 at 1:13pm: I totally agree with you 100 percent Mean Kathleen! Where is their "God" when they need him? Yet, he doesn't show up, doesn't help out, and they continue to worship him! I mean, really? There are 2 reasons why he doesn't help people.

REASON ONE: Because he's a sadistic evil bastard who loves seeing everyone including his beloved children hurt, killed, raped, tortured, etc...He loves smiling down on poor Matthew when he lost his job and now doesn't know how he's going to support his wife and 5 kids. He cracks up really hard when he sees little Bill being molested by the clergy in church, and he watches in delight as 11 year old Susy gets raped by her neighbor. According to "God," this beats reality television anytime of day!

REASON 2: God doesn't do shit because he just doesn't exist. Plain and simple.

Comment by Mean Kathleen on January 8, 2011 at 10:01pm: You left out the mess that mother nature makes, floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, blizzards, etc. What a slap in the face to all those who belong to that church who aren't in the "you're a mess" category! I think they may be running out of reasons to bring 'em in for purposes of filling those collections baskets. That's probably their bigger mess -- the financial donations are down (again). Look at what's happening in the Roman Catholic Church alone -- attendance is at an all time low so naturally collections are down. This is the new twist on bait and switch. You are a mess, your life is a mess and those around you are messes, so hey come on in and the Messiah will hook you up. Seriously? Really? I don't know about you, but I know a whole lot of religious zealots who are all kinds of messed up just with their own religious condemnation. Why anyone would choose to live in that muck is beyond me. Free at last!
