I think the concept of a ghost town is very romantic and emotive. I'd love to visit some of those places.

I believe that the town mentioned in China is a case where people have actually bought the houses but don't want to move in, because the minute they do, the house depreciates. The whole town is more-or-less a savings/investment opportunity.
