When the greatest mind in our history gives his true feelings on God and religion and says "... The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses,...."

I found this on the Richard Dawkins site:

There is no one with more credibility than Albert Einstein; therefore shouldn't this letter be a major symbol of some kind to atheism around the globe?

You see what happened at the Democratic National Convention where they removed the word 'God' and 'Jerusalem the capitol of Isreal', and then the controversial live vote to change it back; makes what Einstein wrote all the more relevant.  For instance:

I'd have to say it seems clear that Einstein is Athiest. He says in the letter:

"The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses,"

"For me the Jewish religion like all other religions is an incarnation of the most childish superstitions."

"Otherwise I cannot see anything 'chosen' about them." (when referring to the Jewish people)

Bummer that I don't have $3mil on hand.  Thanks for posting, as I hadn't seen or heard of this letter before.  I'm not sure I agree with your last sentence, but the letter is definitely valuable to refute people's claims that he was a believer.
