Currently reading Godless by Dan Barker..

It's actually quite good. The first few chapters are/were hard to get through because they were just about how evangelical he was and it bored me but then his change and how he started turning to reason is interesting. If you haven't read it, you should. But i'm only on chapter three, but i think its great so far.

And the headline on the front gets you too: How an Evangelical Preacher Became One of America's Leading Atheists

Oh yes I do intend to. When I bought the book Godless, I also bought the book "God is Not Great". So far so good. The God delusion is still on my to-read book. I wish Bill maher - if he hasn't already done so, which I don't think he has - would write a book. Hes really hilarious, and he knows what he's talking about.

...SIGH...another book I have to read, lol. No really I'm gonna have to add this one to the list.
May I also recommend to you, Chris Hitchens "God is not Great", Carl Sagan's "The Demon Haunted World", and Richard Dawkins " The God Delusion". Also if you have an IPOD, I highly recommend the podcasts, Atheist News, and Chariots of Iron! Keep up the learning!

Actually, I think its specifically Dan's fundamentalist/evangelical experiences that make his book and views so unique when compared to other authors that have published atheist books in recent years. Barring that lone difference of opinion, I coundn't agree with you more - great book.
