So like an Alzheimer patient I always forget how stupid creationist are and try to explain evolution to them and show them the science behind it. Well my Islamic creationist cousin Hytham takes the cake for me when it comes to stupid arguments against evolution. These were his exact words "So if evolution was true then why aren't we watching every animal change into a human?". The ignorance in that statement stunned me for a minute as I had just took him through how small changes in DNA over time add up to noticeable changes over millions of years. Again he returned with "So why aren't the monkeys in the zoo becoming people?" and again I stared at him in amazement at his unwillingness to understand. It's not that he's too stupid to understand, he is a computer scientist, so he's not retarded. It was a religious block in his brain that seemed to refuse new information which contradicted his faith. I had a similar encounter with my mother who after an exhaustive explanation of how a species adapts to it's environment looked at me and said "Joseph grandma and grandad were not monkeys". It's seriously like talking to an old Teddy Rubskin doll and then playing the tape in it's chest which repeats the same collection of messages "God did it"......"Your grandparents weren't monkeys"....."If evolution is true why are there still monkeys?". No matter how many times those questions are explained they simply ask another ludicrous question and finally cycle back to the original stupid question.
