Thanks Anne I really appreciate it. The fact that they would want to hide from the sex scandal is appalling in its own right. Come forward and clean up your mess! Lets be honest also, the Church has never had women's rights as a thought, goal, or priority. In fact, they do as much to hold women back as any institution I can think of.

Nice post. As an ex-catholic I find this so galling. Bishops controlling women's health care in 2012 is really bizarre. And they are in cahoots with the evangelical right against Obama. It's a good smoke screen to take the focus off the child abuse scandal.

There is a video of the Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film. The man isn't demon possessed, there are likely no 'real' demons. He's just delusional and doesn't want to accept personal responsiblity for his own behavior for his own dysfunctional life.

I posted the bulk of this on another thread, but wanted to add some context separately.
I finally confronted my faith and embraced the fact of my atheism late last August, 2012.
