Kentucky is quickly turning into Disneyworld for Creationists. The state has awarded $40 million in tax incentives (tax breaks) to a proposed "Ark Experience." The project will include a full-sized wooden ark, an aviary, and curiously... a "replica" of the Tower of Babel.
Set to open in 2014, the park will cost approximately $150 million. "Governor Steve Beshear announced his support of the for-profit endeavor early on, announcing that it would bring nearly 900 jobs to the state, including almost 550 full-time jobs." (LINK) Creation Science crank Ken Ham estimates that the park will bring in at least $250 million in the first year of operation alone.
Predictably, there has been considerable backlash to the idea of government support for the project:
